Coal Train Black Cloud solution

A solution for the coal trains black cloud has been created, Mayor Wilks posted this on Facebook:

“Message from the Mayor and Council for the District of Sparwood

In a partnership between the District of Sparwood, CP Rail and Teck Resources, coal trains are being treated with a new product to keep the coal in place on its transit to Roberts Bank or Neptune Terminal. We would like to thank CP Rail and Teck Resources for their innovation in trying new solutions to stopping coal from leaving the trains during transport. This spray station is located on the CP mainline behind the recreation centre.

Mayor District of Sparwood”

This reminds me of a drive from Vancouver in 2008 when I spotted what I thought was a thunder cloud hanging above Hope BC. As I approached the black cloud I discovered it was being created by an Elk Valley coal train heading to Port.
