This May, the Elk Valley joins the province-wide celebration of BC Mining Month 2025, with local events that reflect the deep roots and bright future of mining in the region. The theme, “Mining Our Future,” focuses on the critical role mining plays in clean energy, economic development, and community collaboration.
In Sparwood, mining is more than an industry—it’s a way of life. As part of Mining Month, community events will highlight the sector’s contributions, connect residents with mining operations, and encourage dialogue about the industry’s evolving future.
