G.N.S. Industrial Services Ltd., based out of Edmonton Alberta, is a remote workforce accommodation and facilities company. With expansion plans at the mines, and other municipal and provincial construction projects planned, G.N.S. is proposing that a temporary housing need for approximately 150-200 people over the next 24-36 months.
The District of Sparwood is holding a public hearing to discuss the proposed temporary housing application.
For Temporary Use Permit 2018-001 to allow a Temporary Housing Camp at 8000 Highway 43. Following the hearing, Council will consider a resolution to issue Temporary Use Permit 2018-001 at the June 18 Regular Meeting of Council.

Purpose: To construct a temporary 114-person housing camp.

Written submissions may be sent to the District of Sparwood, Box 520, Sparwood, BC V0B 2G0. Electronic submissions by email should be sent to sparwood@sparwood.ca. Please note that all submissions sent by email should be confirmed by phone at the number listed below. These submissions must be received by no later than 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 to ensure their availability to Council at the hearing. All submissions must include your name and street address and are considered public information, pursuant to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
All persons who believe that their interest is affected by the proposed permit shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to be heard in person, by a representative, or by written submission on the matters contained within TUP 2018-001 at the hearing.
